A stylish SUV The muscularly handsome Kodiaq is possessed of an elevated ride height, rising shoulder line and swept-back roofline – all of which help provide the vehicle with its determined stance. And the front of the car boasts an attractively pleated bonnet which overlooks an impactful radiator grille. While this SUV’s appealing looks are most welcome, its many practical attributes shouldn’t be overlooked, such as its five-door body. And since the vehicle’s rear doors open very wide, access to the third row is much easier than you might anticipate.
Choose your colour The car is supplied with a classy Steel Grey paint finish at no extra cost. However, should you wish to choose an alternative colour, there are a number of options. Quartz Grey, Brilliant Silver, Moon White and Velvet Red are available in metallic finishes, while Magic Black can be selected in pearlescent form.
Head-turning wheels The Kodiaq rides on 20-inch black alloy wheels as standard, which further enhance what is already a sporty-looking vehicle. Not only do alloy wheels look nicer than their steel equivalents, they’re much lighter, thus helping to provide optimal performance and efficiency. And in case you’re wondering: alloy is stronger and longer-lasting than steel.
LED illumination The vehicle is fitted with an array of LED illumination: adaptive headlamps, daytime running lights, fog lamps and rear lights. LED, by the way, is short for light-emitting diode and LEDs shine brighter, run longer and are considerably more energy-efficient than their halogen counterparts.
A practical interior As we mentioned earlier, the Škoda Kodiaq is a seven-seater, which makes it a fine alternative to a traditional MPV. In rows one and two, it offers plenty of room for five adults to travel in comfort. Meanwhile, the rearmost row can accommodate a pair of adults but is most ideally suited to conveying younger travellers, especially over longer distances. And the middle row slides forward, which means that access for rear-row passengers is made all the more straightforward.
Flexible storage With all seats in place, the Kodiaq possesses a 270-litre load area. With the rearmost row folded, this volume jumps to 630 litres – and with all but the front seats dropped, capacity increases to a spectacular 2,005 litres. And thanks to a load lip and flat boot floor, getting awkward items in and out is as simple as can be.
Infotainment highlights A 9.2-inch infotainment system is included as standard, and features a minimum four loudspeakers and DAB radio. Also included are AUX and USB ports, enabling you to plug-and-play your compatible devices. Bluetooth connectivity, meanwhile, makes it easy to stream your favourite music and enjoy hands-free mobile phone communication.
Five-star safety Awarded a maximum five-star rating by ANCAP, the Škoda Kodiaq is extremely safe to travel in, not least because it’s packed with passive protective features and driver aids such as blind spot detection. Kids are also well-catered for, thanks to ISOFIX anchor points in all second row seats, as well as child-proof rear doors and windows.
Performance The Kodiaq is installed with a 2.0-litre petrol engine as standard, which is paired with seven-speed automatic transmission. This turbocharged unit produces 320Nm of torque, allowing the vehicle to proceed from a standing stop to 100km/h in approximately 8.2 seconds. This SUV features a four-wheel-drive system too, which allows it to make light work of less than perfect surfaces. Top-tier RS trims are powered by a 2.0-litre unleaded engine, but one that produces 500Nm of torque.
A splash of colour This attractive SUV sports a cool Steel Grey finish as standard, but there are several optional colours to choose from. If you’re hankering for a metallic look, you can select Brilliant Silver, Quartz Grey, Moon White or Velvet Red. Alternatively, a classy Black Pearl paint finish is also available as an option.
Sportline Second-tier Sportline trims feature a number of smartly contrasting black-finished interior and exterior fixtures, including a Karoq nameplate. Inside, the driver is presented with a virtual cockpit – and the opportunity to slide into low-slung, enveloping sport seats, before getting to grips with a leather-wrapped sports steering wheel.
RS Top-tier RS grades boast Xtreme alloys, which are made to the highest standards. Not only do they feature a range-specific design, they’re fitted with polymer-coated tyres, which effectively repel water, therefore ensuring that the rubber lasts longer. RS variants also feature Adaptive Chassis Control (with selectable drive modes), allowing you to respond swiftly to changing road and weather conditions.
