A family favourite The handsome Karoq possesses a raised ride height, a gently rising window line and a swooping roofline, the sum total of which contributes to the car’s overall kerb appeal. This SUV rides on stylish 17-inch alloys as standard, which not only look the part but help to deliver enhanced efficiency and performance. The vehicle’s compact size makes it ideal for driving in busy towns and cities, especially since it can fit into most parking spaces. And a five-door body means that getting into and out of the rear compartment is as straightforward as can be.
A roomy cabin Another advantage of the Karoq’s elevated ride height is that it helps with access, while a tall roofline means that six-foot-plus travellers will find the cabin to be most accommodating. There’s room for five in total – especially if that number includes a trio of younger travellers.
Extra flexibility Each of this SUV’s rear seats fold independently, which allows for numerous passenger-cargo options, especially if you ever need to transport lengthy items. These seats can be removed entirely too – which means a usual maximum luggage capacity of 1,605 litres can be superseded by a decidedly impressive 1,810 litres.
Hands-free tailgate Whenever your hands are full with shopping or luggage, simply waggle your foot underneath the rear bumper and the tailgate will lift automatically. Naturally, this will only work for anyone in possession of the specific key, which means that opportunists will have to try elsewhere.
Infotainment highway A 9.2-inch, full-colour touchscreen display is included as standard, and provides access to a 3D Columbus navigation system, among other things. Also featured are a ten-speaker sound system and AUX and USB ports – and Bluetooth connectivity, which enables audio streaming and hands-free phone communication. Last but not least, you can mirror your smartphone via the vehicle’s own display, thanks to the inclusion of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. This allows you to safely access your favourite apps, play music and much more.
Safe for all the family The Škoda Karoq comes with a five-star ANCAP rating and an array of passive safety features and driver aids. As well as seven airbags, there are two ISOFIX anchor points (situated on outer rear seats), which offer extra protection when child seats are attached.
Autonomous Emergency Braking Issued as standard, Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) triggers a warning should an object get too close to the front of the Karoq. At the same time, maximum braking pressure is automatically applied. AEB also offers protection to more vulnerable road users, such as cyclists or crossing pedestrians.
Optional safety extras By choosing the optional Travel Pack, you can enjoy even more protective features, including Lane Assist, Blind-spot Detection and Rear Traffic Alert. Select the optional Tech Pack and additional safety features such as Park Assist, which finds and manoeuvre's your Karoq into an available space, are made available.
Performance A 1.4-litre petrol engine, paired with eight-speed automatic transmission, is installed as standard. This turbocharged unit produces a peak torque of 250Nm, allowing the vehicle to go from zero to 100km/h in approximately 8.8 seconds. It also returns a combined 6.6 litres per 100km, while producing CO2 emissions from 155g/km. Sportline trims, meanwhile, feature four-wheel-drive, which provides this SUV with enhanced go-anywhere capability.
Karoq colours The Škoda Karoq is furnished with a Candy White (or Steel grey) coat of paint at no extra cost. If you prefer a little extra dazzle – Race Blue, Emerald Green, Moon White, Brilliant Silver and Quartz Grey are metallic options, while Magic Black is available in an elegant Black Pearl finish.
Sportline The top-tier Sportline trim brings extra panache to the Karoq, with grade-specific badging, which is located on front mudguards, for example. A striking black radiator grille also helps differentiate this variant from its standard sibling, as do black alloy wheels. Inside, driver and co-passenger are provided with black-fabric sports seats, each offering lumbar support.
You can rely on Škoda Irrespective of which Karoq iteration you choose, you can rest assured it will come with a generous five-year warranty. And no matter how many kilometres the vehicle ratchets up during that time, the warranty will still stand.
